Latino Caucus and Foundation Elect New Executive Leadership for 2025–2027 Term

CHICAGO – The Chicago City Council Latino Caucus and its nonprofit arm, the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation (CLCF), are proud to announce the election of new Executive Committee members for the 2025–2027 term.
Alderman Andre Vasquez (40th Ward) has been unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Latino Caucus, following the dedicated leadership of outgoing Chair Alderwoman Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33rd Ward). Joining Chair Vasquez on the Executive Committee are:
● Vice Chair: Alderwoman Ruth Cruz (30th Ward)
● Treasurer: Alderwoman Jessie Fuentes (26th Ward)
● Secretary: Alderman Peter Chico (10th Ward)
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Chairwoman Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez for her dedicated leadership during what have undoubtedly been challenging and tumultuous times,” said Chair Vasquez. “Our community is at a pivotal moment—and this Caucus is ready to meet it with unity, integrity, and purpose. With 15 members representing the rich diversity of our city, we are committed to convening, strategizing, and leading on behalf of nuestra gente.”
The Caucus also reaffirmed its commitment to educational advancement and leadership development through the election of the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation Executive Board:
● Chair: Alderman Michael D. Rodriguez (22nd Ward)
● Vice Chair: Alderwoman Julia Ramirez (12th Ward)
● Treasurer: Alderwoman Jeylú Gutiérrez (14th Ward)
● Secretary: Alderman Daniel La Spata (1st Ward)
Ald. Rodriguez was unanimously re-elected for a second term as Chair of the Foundation. Under his leadership, the CLCF has doubled its scholarship awards and strengthened the Foundation’s flagship Leadership Academy, which supports the growth of Latino mid-level professionals and public service leaders.
“We are particularly proud to see our Foundation’s mission come full circle with the election of Alderwoman Jeylú Gutiérrez—an alumna of our Leadership Academy— serving as Treasurer,” said Chair Rodriguez. “This is the Latino leadership pipeline in action.”
The Latino Caucus represents 14 members of the Chicago City Council and is joined by Clerk Anna Valencia as an ex-officio member. The Caucus continues to advocate for equitable policies and investment in Latino communities across Chicago through legislative leadership, community collaboration, and nonprofit engagement.
